๐ท๐ธ Serbia Net Salary Calculator 2025
Serbia applies a flat 10% income tax on employment income, but only after two deductions: a non-taxable threshold of RSD 25,000/month (RSD 300,000/year) and deductible social contributions of 19.15% (14% pension + 5.15% health). For most Serbian employees, the income tax portion ends up between 4% and 7% of gross, with social contributions taking a larger slice. Total effective deductions typically run 25โ30% of gross. Serbia's growing tech sector and low wage costs have made it a hub for regional software development.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the non-taxable threshold?
Every employee gets a monthly non-taxable amount (neoporezivi iznos) of RSD 25,000, or RSD 300,000 per year. Below that level, no income tax at all. This threshold is periodically updated by government decision and has been rising with inflation. It's deducted alongside social contributions before the 10% tax is applied.
What does the 14% PIO cover?
PIO (Penzijsko i invalidsko osiguranje) is Serbia's mandatory pension and disability insurance. The 14% employee contribution plus the employer's 11% together fund the state pension (penzija) and disability payments. The SS earnings cap (approximately RSD 6.48M/year) affects only high earners; most employees never reach it.
What currency does this calculator use?
Serbian dinar (RSD). The dinar is managed by the National Bank of Serbia with a managed float against the euro; roughly 1 EUR โ 117 RSD in 2025. Salaries in Serbia's tech sector are often quoted in euros but paid in dinars at the official rate.
